The HVE02.2-W018 belongs to the HVE Power Supply Units series produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat. This unit is a regulated DC bus source for multiple-axis drive packages in industrial automation, supplying energy, absorbing regeneration, and providing control power without requiring an external transformer. By converting three-phase mains power into a stabilized intermediate circuit, it lets servo inverters share one common supply and simplifies cabinet wiring.
The power module is rated for 18 kW of sustained output, while its DC bus can deliver 13 kW continuously at 400 V and reach 39 kW for 0.3 s during acceleration peaks. Basic internal losses are limited to 125 W, which helps reduce panel heat load. Regenerative braking energy is routed to an integrated bleeder that handles 1 kW of continuous dissipation. A capacitor bank of 0.8 mF smooths the bus voltage, and the charging circuit brings the link up to nominal level in 1.6 s. Cooling is provided by internal air with a built-in blower, so no external ducting is needed. The supply draws 500 VA at maximum load for its own electronics and furnishes 300 W of 24 V control voltage to downstream devices. The unit is design version 2 and has an IP10 housing that protects against accidental contact while allowing airflow through the fins.
The bleeder can absorb transients up to 100 kW for brief events, preventing overvoltage when large axes decelerate. If more storage is required, an external bank of up to 10 mF may be connected in parallel with the internal capacitors, raising the energy buffer to capture as much as 70 kWs before the bleeder activates. The enclosure measures 498 mm in height, 100 mm in width, and weighs 13 kg, so it fits narrow drive racks without extra support. This layout also leaves room for the power section, capacitor bank, and cooling path within a compact cabinet width.
