HMV power supplies are available in regenerative and feeding type. The actual type can be identified by the letter R or E in the type code of the power supply module. One module can power several drives simultaneously through a single mains connection. The HMV01.1R-W0120 power supply module should always be operated with the HAB01 fan unit to avoid overheating-related damages. 

HMV power supplies must be handled and operated only by qualified personnel. All power supplies come with a standard control panel, a touch guard, a joint bar to connect its equipment grounding conductor with an adjacent device and several connectors. Some modules also have additional connectors. These DC power supply modules are available in various output power options and deliver the rated input current to the power section of the drive controller. Their installation must be done such that there is sufficient clearance above and below them. HMV power supplies must always be put into operation only with a connected equipment grounding conductor and plugged-on connectors.
The connection cables of the Rexroth power supplies must have a cross-section based on the main fuse and the determined phase current.
The terminal connectors of the HMV power supplies must be equipped with the manufacturer’s HAS02 connection accessory or strain relief to prevent them from getting damaged.
The communication between a single power supply module and multiple drive controllers can be achieved through a bus connection.
The power supply modules must be de-energized and secured against unauthorized or unintentional re-energization before working on their live parts.

The Rexroth HMV power supply modules tend to get damaged when the polarity of their DC bus connections is reserved. The joint bar placed in front of the supply module can be used to establish a connection with the drive controller and a connection between two adjacent drive controllers. The equipment grounding conductor of the supply units must be connected to the equipment grounding system of the control cabinet.

Regenerative power supplies have an output voltage of 750 VDC, whilst the output voltage ranges between 435 VDC and 710 VDC for feeding-type supply modules. The ideal maximum operating temperature of HMV power supply modules is 40°C. This cannot be more than 55°C. When the ambient temperature is exceeded, the modules depict reduced output. The Rexroth power supplies are compatible with the manufacturer’s MAD/MAF asynchronous motors, MSK synchronous motors and synchronous kit spindle motors, to mention just a few types.
