Product Description:
The HMD01.1N-W0012 is a double-axis drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the HMD Double Axis Drive Controllers series. Designed for cabinet installation in multi-axis automation equipment, the unit supplies regulated power and coordinated braking to two servo motors, converting an incoming three-phase 400 V line into controlled pulses for speed and position control. By combining axis control and brake management in a single 50 mm-wide housing, it reduces wiring complexity, helps conserve panel space, and supports compact machine layouts where two coordinated axes must operate from one drive platform.
Each axis provides a continuous output of 7 A and an effective peak of 12 A, which supports normal running loads and short acceleration bursts during changes in speed or direction. The dedicated brake channel switches at up to 0.5 Hz and can source 1.5 A to each motor, with a 50 ms load time constant. Power conversion is clocked by a pulse-width modulation stage running at 4 kHz, and the controller tolerates line inductances up to 100 µH without derating. The control section draws 0.7 A from the 24 V auxiliary rail and has low standby consumption when no plug-in control unit is installed. The product is design version 1 and line version 1.
The electronics are fed by a control voltage of 24 V DC ±20% through an M6 threaded connector, and the same supply powers an internal blower that circulates air through the chassis. With a mass of 5.5 kg, the unit mounts vertically, and the ground lug is tightened to 6 Nm while the motor-power connector is limited to 0.6 Nm. Cabinet design must leave 80 mm clear above the 440 mm-high, 50 mm-wide, 309 mm-deep housing so airflow remains unobstructed as ambient temperature approaches the allowable 40 °C limit. Standby demand remains below 17 W, and the unit does not include an integrated power supply, so control power is provided from an external source.
