The brake resistor can perform efficiently between the temperature ranges of 0 to +40 ͦC at the maximum altitude of 1000 meters above the sea level without a reduction in nominal data. The brake resistor operates at the DC voltage of 700V and uses the regenerated power of 1566 kWs for the 34 seconds of the maximum allowed on-time duty to convert the excessive kinetic energy into thermal energy.
