Installed on the DC link of an inverter, it dissipates surplus regenerative energy produced during fast stops or load reversals in automated conveyors, presses, and gantry axes. By converting excess electrical energy into heat, the device helps protect the drive's power semiconductors and keeps bus voltage stable during abrupt deceleration. Its passive operation requires no control signals, so it works as a dedicated protection element in centralized or distributed control panels. That behavior is especially useful on axes that slow down repeatedly under high inertia.

The resistor has a continuous power rating of 34 kW, allowing sustained absorption of high kinetic energy without exceeding its permissible surface temperature.
