The HLR01.1N-22K0-N03R5-B-007-NNNN is a brake resistor module produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the HLR Brake Resistors series. The unit works with regenerative drive controllers to dissipate surplus DC-bus energy during dynamic braking cycles, helping protect power electronics and maintain controlled deceleration in industrial automation axes such as gantries, machine tools, and packaging lines. This role is especially useful on machines that return significant energy to the drive during frequent stopping or rapid speed changes.

The brake resistor delivers a continuous power of 22 kW, enabling it to absorb heat steadily during normal stopping cycles. With an ohmic value of 3.5 Ω, the element limits discharge current from the drive DC link to a predictable level. During emergency or high-inertia stops, the assembly can handle a short-term peak load of 176 kW when the bus voltage reaches 785 V DC, and that load may be applied for up to 8 s before thermal limits are reached. Electrical terminations accept 16 mm² conductors and use an M8 threaded stud, while the enclosure is rated IP23, allowing installation inside cabinets where protection against finger contact and falling water is required.
