Installed on the common DC bus of servo inverters, it diverts regenerative energy into its integrated resistive load so the bus voltage stays within safe limits during overhauling moves or emergency stops. In automated lines, this function prevents overvoltage trips and lets axes decelerate at commanded rates without relying on mechanical brakes alone. When several axes share the same DC link, the unit helps stabilize the electrical system during rapid stopping or load-driven motion.

The module can continuously dissipate 1 kW of braking energy and survive short peaks up to 100 kW, giving machines a wide margin between steady-state and transient duty. It is designed for a nominal bus of 700 V and engages only when the bus exceeds a switch-on threshold of 820 V, so normal motoring operation is unaffected.
