Product Description:
The HDS05.2-W300N-HS58-01-FW is a modular drive controller from Bosch Rexroth Indramat in the HDS Drive Controllers series. It is installed in cabinet-mounted racks to regulate power flow between the shared DC bus supply module and individual servo axes. By modulating bus energy and enforcing torque commands, the unit supports high-speed positioning, indexing, and speed control in industrial automation lines such as packaging machines, material-handling gantries, and machining centers. Its rack-mounted design allows the controller to operate as one axis within a coordinated multi-axis drive system. This arrangement lets the power stage work with the rack supply module instead of requiring a standalone drive enclosure.
This unit communicates with the central motion controller over the SERCOS fiber-optic ring, allowing deterministic exchange of position words and diagnostic registers during cyclic operation. The fiber-optic link also supports synchronized command execution across the drive group. It belongs to the DIAX04 platform, so it uses the same basic module arrangement as related controllers in that family. A continuous output capability of 300 A allows it to run large-torque motors or motors with multiple parallel windings without derating. Heat generated by the power section is removed by a built-in air blower, so cooling air is directed across the heat sink inside the cabinet.
The unit is part of Line 05 and is built as Version 2. It fits alongside supply and auxiliary cards in a shared backplane, which keeps the electrical connection to the rack organized and compact. Regenerated energy is handled through the rack power section during braking and deceleration. The module remains in the same cabinet as the rack power hardware, which reduces the need for separate external interconnects. This separation leaves the controller dedicated to axis regulation while the rack manages shared power functions.
