Product Description:
The HDS05.2-W300N-HS02-02-FW drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the HDS Drive Controllers series. Installed in DIAX04 modular racks, this unit provides a high-current power stage and closed-loop control for synchronous or induction motors used in assembly lines, presses, and material-handling equipment. By converting setpoint data from the motion controller into regulated armature current, it supports stable speed and position control during acceleration, dwell, and deceleration. The controller occupies a single rack slot and interfaces with companion supply modules and fieldbus couplers. Its role in the system is to translate motion commands into controlled electrical output for each assigned axis.
Within the rack, the controller can deliver a continuous output of 300 A, so axes with substantial torque demand can be operated without external amplifiers. Command data reach the unit through the SERCOS fiber-optic ring, allowing deterministic communication and synchronous updates across a multi-axis network. Heat generated by the output transistors is removed by a built-in air blower, so cabinet ducting is not required at nominal service temperatures. The control electronics follow the DIAX04 platform used with related HDS, HMS, and HSC modules. The unit is part of Line 05. This layout allows the module to fit directly into rack assemblies that use the same mechanical and electrical format.
The unit is built in Version 2. It is classified as an HDS Drive Controller, meaning it combines a digital current regulator with protective functions such as I2t monitoring and short-circuit shutdown. These protections help the axis respond to changing load conditions while guarding the power section against thermal and electrical stress. The modular design supports integration with shared rack components, and the front-access format keeps signal and power connections organized inside the enclosure.
