The HDS04.1-W200N-HA30-01-FW is a modular drive controller built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the HDS Drive Controllers series. Designed for multi-axis motion systems, it receives DC power from a shared supply module and generates controlled three-phase output for servo and spindle motors. In factory automation lines, the device closes current, speed, and position loops so gantries, tool changers, and transfer units follow programmed trajectories accurately. It can be used on servo axes that require precise positioning as well as on spindle axes that need stable speed regulation during process changes. Because it operates from a common DC supply, several axes can be grouped in one cabinet while each controller regulates its assigned motor independently.

For setpoint exchange, the unit uses an analog command interface, so the motion card or PLC can send ±10 V speed or torque commands through dedicated input channels. This arrangement suits machines that rely on analog references instead of network-based command transmission. The internal power stage can deliver a continuous phase current of 200 A, supporting high steady motor demand on large axes. Thermal energy is removed by a built-in air blower, and the controller is part of the DIAX04 family, where compatible axes share a common DC bus and a coordinated rack structure. The blower circulates air through the housing so heat can be carried away from the power electronics without external ducting.

The unit is an HDS Drive Controller in Line 04 and Version 1. Inside an HDS cabinet, it plugs into the backplane and exchanges status signals through fiber-optic or discrete connections, depending on the installed control arrangement. Backplane mounting keeps the electrical connection path short and allows the module to fit cleanly into dense multi-axis assemblies. Built-in monitoring reacts to overcurrent, overtemperature, and communication loss so the axis can shut down in a controlled manner.
