Product Description:
The HDS03.2-W075N-HS23-01-FW is an HDS Drive Controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and supplied within the HDS Drive Controllers series. It regulates the power stage of servo and spindle axes in multi-axis automation cells, translating motion commands from higher-level control systems into precisely timed current and voltage patterns for the connected motors. For communication, the controller uses the SERCOS optical ring, allowing deterministic position loops and synchronous drive coordination. This supports coordinated motion in systems where several axes must accelerate, run, and stop in step with one another.
It belongs to the DIAX04 family, so it shares mechanics and parameter structure with other modules on the same backplane. Thermal management relies on a built-in air blower, so external cabinet airflow is not required as long as the ambient temperature remains within the permitted range of +5 to +45 °C. The unit can deliver a continuous output of 75 A, which is the maximum motor phase current it can supply without derating. Live parts are enclosed to IP 10 under DIN 40 050, so the module must be installed in a closed electrical cabinet. Because of this enclosure level, overall operator protection depends on the cabinet rather than open mounting. The product is part of Line 03 and Version 2.
Full performance is available up to 1000 m above sea level, and higher elevations require current reduction because thinner air lowers cooling effectiveness. When internal cabinet temperature rises above +55 °C, additional derating applies, so tighter enclosures may require heat exchangers or forced ventilation. Windings, busbars, and insulating materials comply with C insulation class under DIN VDE 0110, supporting elevated hot-spot temperatures during heavy cyclic loads. During logistics or plant shutdowns, the drive can be stored from -30 to +85 °C without functional loss. These temperature and altitude limits should be considered together when the controller is installed in compact cabinets with other heat-producing drive components.
