Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the HDS03.1-W075N-HS45-01-FW as a modular drive controller in the HDS Drive Controllers series. The unit occupies one axis slot in the DIAX04 motion system and converts DC bus power into regulated three-phase output for servo drives. By monitoring feedback and issuing precise current commands, it links the central motion processor to the mechanical load in automated machining, packaging, and material-handling cells. This arrangement lets the controller regulate torque and speed during coordinated axis motion under changing load conditions.
Communication with higher-level motion controllers is handled through the SERCOS interface, so parameter data and real-time drive commands are exchanged over a fiber-optic ring. The power stage is designed for a continuous output of 75 A, which is the maximum RMS motor current it can supply without thermal overload. Heat generated by the switching devices is removed by a built-in air blower, allowing cabinet installation without external heat sinks. The enclosure has an IP10 rating, which protects against solid objects larger than 50 mm but requires a closed cabinet for dust or fluid exposure. Reliable operation is permitted in ambient temperatures from +5 to +45 °C, so internal airflow in the cabinet remains important during normal use.
At altitudes up to 1000 m above sea level, the drive maintains full output, while reduced air density above that height can lower the allowable current. During shipment or warehouse storage, it tolerates temperatures from -30 to +85 °C, which helps protect internal components in unconditioned environments. The power section uses insulation graded to Class C, so it can withstand the higher hot-spot temperatures associated with switching operation. When cabinet cooling is limited, the controller can still operate, but above +55 °C ambient it must be derated to protect the semiconductor junctions. The product is line 03 and version 1.
