Product Description:
The HDS02.2-W040N-HS76-01-FW drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the HDS Drive Controllers series. In industrial automation, this device governs servo power stages so that axes follow commanded motion profiles with consistent accuracy. It is supplied in line 02 and hardware version 2 for use in multi-axis systems. By converting digital setpoints into controlled three-phase outputs, it links higher-level motion processors to the attached motor windings and supports coordinated positioning, speed control, and repeatable axis response during machine operation. It is intended for industrial servo applications where stable current control and predictable axis behavior are required over repeated cycles.
The controller uses the DIAX04 platform and exchanges real-time setpoints and feedback over a SERCOS fiber-optic link, allowing synchronous motion among multiple drives. Because commands and feedback are transferred in real time, companion axes can remain coordinated during interpolation, indexing, and other linked moves. Thermal management relies on a built-in air blower that channels cabinet air across heat sink surfaces and supports the full 40 A rated output current within an ambient temperature range of +5 to +45 °C. The insulation class is C according to DIN VDE 0110, and the controller also uses overcurrent and overtemperature protection for controlled shutdown with upstream supply modules.
The housing has an IP 10 protection category, so the unit must be installed inside an electrical enclosure rather than exposed directly on the machine. Reliable operation is maintained up to 1000 m installation altitude, and above this height the permissible surrounding temperature drops from the short-term limit of +55 °C. During storage or shipping, the electronics withstand temperatures from -30 to +85 °C. These limits should be observed when the controller is stored, transported, or mounted in cabinets that contain other heat-generating drive components. This helps preserve electrical performance before the controller is powered.
