The HDS02.2-W040N-HS32-01-FW is a drive controller in the HDS Drive Controllers series from Bosch Rexroth Indramat. It operates as a modular axis controller in DIAX04 multi-axis systems and provides closed-loop regulation for servo motors used in packaging, material handling, and machining lines. By receiving setpoint data from higher-level motion platforms, the unit converts those commands into regulated current and voltage for controlled motor torque and speed. This allows the connected axis to follow commanded motion with stable regulation during automated operation.
This controller communicates with supervisory PLCs through the SERCOS fiber-optic interface, allowing deterministic transfer of motion data and diagnostic information. It belongs to the DIAX04 family and is built in Version 2 within Line 02. A rated output of 40 A supports medium-power servo axes without external amplification. Thermal management is handled by a built-in air blower, which moves cabinet air across the heat sink to control internal temperature during continuous operation. This cooling method removes the need for separate heat exchangers and supports installation in standard control cabinets with proper airflow.
The controller can be mounted at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level without derating, and it operates continuously in ambient temperatures from +5 to +45 °C. Short-term operation is permitted up to +55 °C when the load is reduced. The enclosure has a protection class of IP 10, so the unit is intended for installation inside a switchgear cabinet rather than in exposed machine areas. Its insulation system uses Class C according to DIN VDE 0110 for high thermal resistance. Storage is permitted from -30 °C to +85 °C, which allows transport and warehousing without damage when the unit is not in operation.
