The HDS02.2-W040N-HA13-01-FW drive controller is manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and is supplied as part of the HDS Drive Controllers series in the DIAX04 family. It is installed in multi-axis cabinets where coordinated drives share common power infrastructure and control signals. The controller receives reference values from a motion control system and regulates its power stage so that connected servo motors follow the required speed or torque profiles in automated production equipment during changing load conditions.
This controller exchanges setpoints through an analog interface, allowing simple voltage or current commands from legacy or PLC-based motion sources. During operation, it can deliver a continuous output of 40 A, so the drive can support substantial dynamic torque without exceeding its current rating. Heat produced by the power section is removed by a built-in air blower, eliminating the need for external cooling ducts inside the cabinet. Reliable electronics function is maintained when the ambient remains between +5 to +45 °C, which supports stable operation in climate-controlled industrial enclosures. Windings, bus bars, and isolation gaps use an insulation system rated to Class C, so the materials can tolerate elevated operating temperatures during continuous use.

If cabinet air reaches +55 °C, the controller must be derated to limit thermal stress during heavy duty cycles. For transport and storage, the components tolerate temperatures from -30 to +85 °C without damage, which allows the unit to be kept in unconditioned warehouse spaces before installation.
