Bosch Rexroth Indramat’s HDS Drive Controllers series includes the HDS02.2-W040N-HA10-01-FW, a servo drive controller that manages torque, speed, and position loops in DIAX04 modular drive systems used in factory automation. The unit belongs to Line 02 and is supplied as Version 2. It occupies an axis slot in a DIAX04 rack and converts motion commands from higher-level controls into regulated three-phase output for connected servo motors. This arrangement lets the controller act as the power and regulation stage for one machine axis within a multi-axis cabinet. Closed-loop control helps the connected motor hold commanded speed and position during acceleration, steady travel, and stop sequences.

The drive delivers a continuous output of 40 A, which supports medium-power axes such as packaging formers and material-handling gantries. Thermal energy is removed by a built-in air blower, allowing cabinet installation without an external heat sink. Field signals enter through an analog command interface, so velocity or torque references can be sent by PLC analog modules or motion cards. Because the housing has an IP10 rating, it is intended for clean electrical cabinets rather than exposed machine mounting. Coil and bus insulation meet class C per DIN VDE 0110, which supports reliable separation between internal circuits at elevated operating temperatures.

The controller can be mounted at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level without output derating, so rated current is maintained at most industrial sites. During operation, it accepts ambient temperatures from +5 °C to +45 °C. If cabinet temperature rises beyond that range, output must be reduced, and the short-term upper limit is +55 °C. When the unit is offline, storage is permitted between −30 °C and +85 °C. This storage range supports normal warehouse and transport conditions while the equipment is unpowered. The controller is intended for enclosed control cabinets with controlled airflow and standard industrial ambient conditions.
