Product Description:
The HDS02.1-W040N-HS45-01-FW is a modular drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the HDS Drive Controllers series. Designed for use in multi-axis DIAX04 systems, the unit supplies regulated power and coordinated motion control to servo axes in packaging, material handling, and machining equipment. In automated systems, it converts available DC-bus power into controlled motor current so connected axes can follow speed, torque, and position commands. The controller is intended for applications that require accurate axis response and dependable coordination across several drive modules.
Communication with the control system is handled through the SERCOS fiber-optic interface, allowing high-speed cyclic data exchange and real-time diagnostics. This connection supports synchronized command transfer between the controller and the higher-level control platform during multi-axis operation. The power stage is rated for a continuous output of 40 A, so the controller can supply substantial current to medium-frame servo axes without external boosters. Its current capacity is suitable for repeated acceleration and steady-state running on medium-power machinery axes. Heat generated by the electronics is removed by a built-in internal air blower, which helps keep the module within its thermal range. Electrical insulation is rated to class C under DIN VDE 0110. The housing has an IP 10 protection rating under DIN 40 050, so it is protected against accidental finger contact and is intended for installation in a closed control cabinet.
The controller operates at full current in ambient temperatures from +5 °C to +45 °C. Above this range, the output must be derated, and the maximum permitted ambient temperature is +55 °C. Continuous service is permitted at installation heights up to 1000 m above sea level, where normal cooling performance can be maintained. During storage or transport, the electronics can withstand temperatures from -30 °C to +85 °C. These operating limits apply to normal cabinet installation with appropriate airflow around the module. The product is part of line 02 and version 1 within the DIAX04 platform.
