The HDS02.1-W040N-HT04-01-FW is an HDS Drive Controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the HDS Drive Controllers series. Within an automation cell, this unit forms the power stage for the DIAX multi-axis platform and supplies controlled current to connected servo motors. In a closed-loop drive system, it serves as the interface between the DC bus and the motor phases so commanded motion can be converted into usable torque. That arrangement allows regulated speed, precise positioning, contouring, and synchronized motion in material-handling or machining equipment. It is intended for coordinated axis control where repeatable response is needed during acceleration, deceleration, and steady-speed operation.
This controller exchanges setpoint and diagnostic data through the SERCOS fiber-optic interface and belongs to the DIAX04 controller family, so it fits into existing DIAX racks without extra gateways. Fiber-optic communication also helps maintain stable signal transmission in electrically noisy machine environments. A built-in internal air blower moves cooling air across the heat sink and supports continuous motor current up to 40 A. The unit can be installed up to 1000 m above sea level without performance change. It operates in ambient air from +5 to +45 °C, and above this range the current must be derated, with an upper functional limit of +55 °C. Insulation class C as per DIN VDE 0110 supports the electrical isolation used in cyclic-duty operation. Storage and transport are allowed between -30 and +85 °C when the controller is not energized, which supports normal handling and warehouse conditions.
