Product Description:
The HDS02.1-W040N-HS47-01-FW is a drive controller assembled by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the HDS Drive Controllers series. As a closed-loop axis module, it supplies regulated power to servo motors and exchanges real-time motion data with a central PLC through its SERCOS fiber network. This controller is part of the DIAX04 family and shares the mechanical format used with related supply and auxiliary units in packaging, printing, and material-handling lines.
The unit communicates over the SERCOS interface, which provides deterministic timing for multi-axis synchronization. A built-in air blower forces cooling air through the housing so the electronics remain within their operating limits without external fans. The power stage delivers a continuous output of 40 A, which is the maximum motor phase current the module can supply during continuous operation. Its housing carries an IP 10 rating under DIN 40 050, so fingers are protected from live parts, but the controller must be mounted in an enclosure where dust or fluids may be present. Full performance is available when the ambient temperature stays between +5 … +45 °C, while operation outside that range requires derating or additional cooling.
Installation is permitted at heights up to 1000 m above sea level before convection cooling is affected. The internal components use insulation class C per DIN VDE 0110, which allows a higher temperature tolerance than lower insulation classes. If cabinet air reaches +55 °C, the output current must be reduced to prevent overtemperature shutdown. For storage and transport, the module tolerates temperatures from -30 … +85 °C without damage, and it is part of line 02 and version 1.
