Product Description:
The HDS02.1-W040N-HA23-01-FW is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the HDS Drive Controllers series. As a modular unit in a DIAX04 system, it manages power delivery and closed-loop feedback between a servo motor and the higher-level PLC. In automated machinery, it converts setpoint commands into regulated current and voltage so axes can perform accurate positioning, controlled acceleration, and stable speed regulation during continuous industrial operation.
The controller accepts reference signals through an analog command interface, so velocity or torque commands are sent as continuous voltage levels that the internal electronics sample in real time. A rated output of 40 A is the maximum continuous current it can deliver to the connected motor windings without thermal derating under normal conditions. Thermal stability is supported by a built-in air blower that moves air across the heat sink instead of relying only on cabinet airflow. Protection against accidental contact is indicated by an enclosure rating of IP 10 under DIN 40 050, which excludes large foreign objects but does not provide sealed protection. The permissible ambient operating range is +5 … +45 °C, making the unit suitable for standard factory-floor temperatures.
For storage and transport, the controller can remain within a temperature range of -30 … +85 °C without damage from normal non-operating exposure. It can be installed at elevations up to 1000 m above sea level without requiring additional cooling adjustments. Operation may continue until the internal sensor reaches a derated ceiling temperature of +55 °C, after which thermal limits must be respected to protect the power section. Electrical insulation follows class C under DIN VDE 0110, which supports the insulation requirements expected in industrial drive cabinets. These operating limits should be observed whenever the controller is used in enclosed automation equipment.
