The HDS01.1-W025-D is a modular drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the HDS Drive Controllers series. The unit operates as a control section that processes incoming command signals and supervises the current and velocity loops for the power module installed in the same rack. This arrangement separates control functions from the power stage while keeping both sections closely integrated during operation. By carrying out these closed-loop tasks, it delivers accurate and repeatable motion to servo motors used in machining centers, printing lines, and automated handling systems.

Heat is removed by a built-in air blower, so the cabinet only needs unobstructed airflow instead of external ducting. The controller carries an IP10 housing rating, which provides basic protection against large solid objects and requires installation inside a closed panel in harsher environments. It maintains full performance at ambient temperatures from +5 to +45 °C, while higher temperatures can cause derating. Altitude capability extends to 1000 m above sea level, which helps keep cooling and dielectric spacing stable across most plant locations. The power electronics use insulation class C according to DIN VDE 0110, allowing operation at higher temperatures than Class A or Class B equipment.

When cabinet ventilation cannot keep the air below design limits, the device can still operate at reduced output up to +55 °C. During inactive periods or shipment, it tolerates storage and transport temperatures from -30 to +85 °C, which helps protect electronic assemblies when the unit passes through unconditioned areas. The unit is Version 1 and is identified as an HDS Drive Controller. That version marking places it in the first release of this configuration. It is intended for use with DSS and DKS power sections installed in the same drive rack.
