The HCS03.1E-W0070-A-05-NNNN is a drive controller manufactured by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. Installed between the plant’s three-phase mains and attached servo or induction motors, the unit conditions incoming power and executes closed-loop drive commands. It also communicates status data to higher-level motion platforms so coordinated movement can be maintained in automated production lines and material-handling systems.
An integrated blower moves cooling air through the heat sink, so the controller relies on internal air cooling rather than an external fan tray. During dynamic acceleration phases, it can deliver up to 70 A of peak output current to the connected motor windings. The rectifier and DC link are designed for mains supplies of 3 x AC 400 to 500 V, and the stated range accepts line variations of +10% and -15% without tripping. The power electronics in this model cover applications from 15 to 75 kW, allowing one controller type to serve small conveyor axes as well as higher-power process drives. Control terminals and busbars are protected only against incidental finger contact and settled dust because the housing carries an IP20 rating, so the unit must be mounted inside a closed electrical cabinet.
The unit is design release 1 and carries the series code HCS03. The converter section uses voltage code 05, which matches the 500 V class. DC-link management supports an infeeding / fed topology, so the controller can operate either as an independent rectifier that returns regenerated energy to the supply or as a follower that draws its DC power from a common bus. This arrangement allows shared energy use across multi-axis systems during acceleration and braking, while the available operating modes support both standalone and common-bus layouts.
