Product Description:
The HCS01.1E-W0054-A-03-E-S3-EC-EP-L3-NN-FW drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. Designed for cabinet-mounted motion axes, this unit regulates servo and induction motors in automated packaging lines, material handlers, and process equipment. As a drive controller, it converts three-phase mains power into controlled motor current for precise axis control while exchanging real-time status data with higher-level PLCs.
Communication with the central motion network is handled over SERCOS III, enabling deterministic cycle times for coordinated multi-axis motion tasks. The unit accepts a supply of 3 × AC 200…500 V ±10%, so the same drive can operate on both low and medium factory voltages without tap changes. Internally, it can deliver up to 54 A of peak phase current, which supports short acceleration bursts before protective limits engage. Heat is removed by internal air cooling with an integrated blower, which draws cabinet air across the heat sink and eliminates the need for external ducting. An enclosure rating of IP20 indicates finger-safe live parts but requires installation inside a closed electrical cabinet.
The control section mounted on this power stage is the ECONOMY variant, which provides standard regulation functions while minimizing footprint in compact cabinets. For position feedback, Interface 1 accepts IndraDyn Hiperface and EnDat 2.1/2.2 encoder signals, allowing high-resolution absolute data from Rexroth and third-party motors. The integrated safety channel supports STO (Safe Torque Off); when triggered, it cuts energy to the power devices so mechanical motion cannot be sustained. Energy can be supplied through the shared DC bus because the power module is specified as infeeding or fed, allowing regenerated power to return to upstream units or be drawn from them during periods of high demand.
