Installed between the plant mains and a servo or spindle motor, this unit regulates current and velocity loops while exchanging motion commands with higher-level PLCs. Within an automation cell, it supplies the power stage, interprets encoder feedback, and coordinates dynamic profiles for pick-and-place, packaging, or machining axes. This arrangement lets the drive react quickly to motor feedback while the machine controller manages overall axis coordination.
Its network stack is configured for MultiEthernet, allowing the same hardware to communicate over EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or EtherCAT without additional interface cards. The power section can deliver up to 54 A of peak current, a capacity matched to medium-inertia motors that see short acceleration bursts. Input power is accepted from a three-phase supply at 3 × AC 200–500 V ±10%, so the controller can be used on both 230 V and 400 V plant grids. The drive ships with a BASIC control section, providing standard position, velocity, and torque functions for general servo applications. DC power is managed through an infeed and feed operation topology, so several drives can share one supply module and return braking energy to the common bus. The unit uses design version 1 and supports Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 transducers through dual encoder ports. This allows redundant feedback arrangements or gantry master-slave operation without additional interface cards.
