It serves as an HCS drive controller for regulated motor operation in industrial automation systems. The unit conditions three-phase mains power and executes closed-loop motion commands so connected motors follow precise speed or torque references. By combining power conversion and motion control in one housing, it suits compact cabinet installations that require coordinated axis control and stable motor response.
The controller accepts a nominal supply of 3 x AC 200–500 V ±10% and can momentarily deliver up to 54 A of peak current to the motor inverter stage. Thermal dissipation is handled by internal air cooling through an integrated blower, so no external heat sink is required. The enclosed cooling arrangement helps move heat away from internal components during operation when the unit is installed in a suitable cabinet. Under normal cabinet mounting, it carries an IP20 protection rating, making it suitable for protected electrical enclosures. Command and diagnostic traffic between multiple drives is handled by a SERCOS III interface that supports cross-communication. The power section can operate in either infeeding or energy-recovery mode, depending on the shared DC bus arrangement, and the product is design version 1.

Motion feedback enters through an Encoder IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 channel, while real-time fieldbus traffic to higher-level PLCs can also be exchanged over MultiEthernet ports. These communication paths can operate at the same time without external gateways, which helps the controller exchange motion data and network traffic within the HCS01 line. This arrangement supports synchronized operation across connected equipment while keeping the control structure compact and reducing the need for separate interface hardware.
