The HCS01.1E-W0028-A-03-E-S3-EC-EP-NN-NN-FW is a compact drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. It modulates power between the mains supply and synchronous or induction motors to provide closed-loop velocity and torque control in modular automation stations, material-handling axes, and packaging equipment. By combining power electronics, motion logic, and network communication in one housing, the unit reduces the number of separate components required in the cabinet. Its compact form suits installations where panel space is limited but responsive motor control is still required.

Command and diagnostic data reach the control section over the SERCOS III real-time Ethernet bus, allowing fast cyclic exchange for synchronized motion tasks. The power stage accepts a three-phase supply of 3 × AC 200…500 V ±10%, which gives the unit a broad operating range across common industrial mains systems. During acceleration, the module can deliver a device peak current of 28 A, helping it handle short load spikes without interrupting axis motion. Heat is removed by internal air cooling through an integrated blower, and the enclosure has an IP20 rating for protected installation inside a control cabinet.

The attached control section is the ECONOMY variant and still provides the functions needed for standard point-to-point or speed-controlled axes. Feedback signals are processed through a multi-protocol encoder port that supports Encoder IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2, allowing the drive to read absolute position data from numerous Bosch Rexroth and third-party motors. Within the HCS01 line, the power module can operate in infeeding or fed operation, which supports shared DC bus arrangements across several axes.
