Bosch Rexroth Indramat produces the HCS01.1E-W0028-A-03-B-ET-EC-PB-S4-NN-FW as part of the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. The unit functions as a modular drive controller that supplies regulated power to servo or spindle motors in industrial automation cells while exchanging status data with higher-level PLCs. It belongs to the compact HCS01 line and ships in Design Version 1 with an integrated power section, which helps simplify cabinet layouts.

The controller operates from a three-phase input of 3 x AC 200–500 V ±10% and can deliver a peak output current of 28 A for dynamic motor acceleration. Heat produced by the power electronics is removed through internal air cooling through an integrated blower, which eliminates external ducting and helps maintain uniform panel temperatures. For plant environments that are not dust-tight, the housing carries an IP20 rating, so it must be installed inside a protected control cabinet. Command and diagnostic traffic is handled over the built-in MultiEthernet interface, allowing connection to Ethernet/IP, PROFINET, or EtherCAT networks without additional option cards. Firmware is ordered as a separate sub-position, letting the software revision be matched to existing machine software.

Two dedicated fieldbus and feedback ports expand motion-control capability. The first port accepts IndraDyn Hiperface and EnDat 2.1/2.2 encoder signals, enabling high-resolution position feedback from Rexroth and third-party motors. A second port supports PROFIBUS for legacy PLCs that rely on cyclic data exchange over serial wiring. The hardware uses a BASIC control section, so parameter sets are limited to standard positioning and speed loops, which helps keep setup straightforward.
