Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the HCS01.1E-W0028-A-03-B-ET-EC-NN-NN-NN-NW, a drive controller in the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. The device forms the power and control interface between an automation system and its motor, converting three-phase mains energy into regulated output while executing motion commands from higher-level PLCs. By handling position, speed, and torque loops inside the cabinet, it supports packaging lines, material-handling cells, and other industrial axes that require precise software-based coordination. This arrangement keeps motor regulation inside the drive so the higher-level control can focus on machine sequencing and axis commands.

The controller communicates with plant networks through a MultiEthernet port, allowing direct access for EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or EtherCAT hosts without additional hardware. It accepts input supplies from 3 x AC 200...500 V ±10%, so it can operate across common industrial utility ranges and fit mixed-voltage panels. Inside the power stage, semiconductor devices are sized for a peak output of 28 A, allowing short bursts of acceleration before thermal limiting occurs. Thermal energy is removed by internal air cooling with an integrated blower, which circulates air through the unit to manage heat from the power electronics. An IP20 housing protects against finger contact and is intended for installation inside an enclosed control cabinet.

The control section supplied with the unit is the basic variant, which suits general motion tasks with a straightforward control configuration. Feedback wiring lands on an IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 encoder interface, so a single port can process high-resolution sine-cosine, Hiperface, or EnDat signals without external adapters. No secondary encoder interface is populated, and the safety interface is not equipped. Power for the DC link is managed by an infeeding and fed operation supply concept, allowing the drive to act as either an energy source or an energy consumer within common DC bus arrangements. As part of the HCS01 line, the unit uses design version 1 for consistent mechanical dimensions.
