Product Description:
Bosch Rexroth Indramat builds the HCS01.1E-W0028-A-03-A-ET-EC-NN-S4-NN-FW drive controller within the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. As an axis inverter, it regulates current, velocity, and position for synchronous and asynchronous motors used in automated handling, packaging, and machining cells. The compact single-axis unit integrates into decentralized cabinets and collaborates with an external control section to deliver real-time torque commands, enabling precise motion control while sharing the DC bus with other IndraDrive devices.
The controller accepts a mains input of 3-phase 200–500 V AC ±10%, allowing it to operate on common low- and medium-voltage factory networks without transformer adaptation. During acceleration or braking events it can deliver up to 28 A of peak output current, granting short bursts of torque to overcome inertial loads. Thermal management is handled by internal air cooling through an integrated blower, so no external ducting is required inside the panel. Field communication is routed over MultiEthernet, which presents a single port that can be switched via firmware to EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, or SERCOS III for flexible PLC integration. An IP20 housing protects the electronics from incidental finger contact and mandates installation inside an electrical enclosure.
Encoder feedback is processed through IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2, enabling absolute position resolution without additional interface cards, while the optional second encoder port remains unpopulated for cost efficiency. Hardware identified as Design 1 aligns with current spare-parts lists and requires that firmware be ordered separately for application-specific features. The integrated power stage is classified as infeeding / fed, so it can return regenerative energy to the DC bus or draw from a common supply. When combined with the BASIC control section, motion functions such as speed control, torque limiting, and homing sequences are executed through the drive firmware.
