Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-L4-NN-FW as part of the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. This HCS drive controller supplies and regulates power for servo axes, coordinates motion sequences, and interfaces with higher-level PLCs in automated machining and material-handling equipment. It belongs to the compact HCS01 line, making it suitable for decentralized cabinet layouts where available space is limited and short internal cable routing is preferred.
The controller communicates over SERCOS III, enabling cyclic position and diagnostic exchange with low jitter during synchronized axis control. Its power stage accepts 3 × AC 200…500 V ±10%, so the same unit can operate from 230 V or 480 V mains without rewiring the main supply connection. Heat is removed by internal air cooling through an integrated blower that directs airflow across the heat sink and power electronics. With a device peak current of 18 A, the inverter can support short acceleration bursts without immediate current limiting. The housing has an IP20 rating, so it is intended for enclosed cabinets where contact protection is required. This variant uses the ECONOMY control section, which provides position, velocity, and torque control. The power supply supports infeeding and energy feedback for bidirectional energy flow.
Feedback wiring connects through Interface 1, which supports Encoder IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 for single-turn or multi-turn position data. A second interface is not equipped, which simplifies wiring when only one encoder channel is needed for closed-loop control. Functional safety is provided through STO (Safe Torque Off) and SBC (Safe Brake Control), allowing torque shutdown and brake control without external safety relays for those functions. The unit is design version 1 within the HCS01 family.
