The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-L3-NN-FW drive controller is part of the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. This compact unit combines a rectifier, inverter, and control electronics in one housing, allowing it to supply regulated power and motion control to a single axis in automated machinery. Because the rectifier and inverter are integrated, the controller reduces the number of external modules needed in compact cabinet layouts. In packaging, material-handling, and process equipment, it serves as the link between PLC commands and the connected motor so speed and torque can be controlled accurately.
Communication with the higher-level motion system takes place over SERCOS III, so position and status data are exchanged cyclically without additional gateways. The power stage accepts utility supplies from 3 × AC 200–500 V with a tolerance of ±10%, allowing operation on both 230 V and 480 V line power. It can deliver up to 18 A of peak current to support short acceleration demands and changing load conditions. Thermal energy is removed by internal air cooling, and the enclosure has an IP20 rating for cabinet installation. This housing rating helps protect against accidental contact with live parts, but the unit is intended for use inside a clean, dry enclosure. A built-in Safe Torque Off function disables torque generation when the safety circuit is opened.

Encoder feedback is supported through IndraDyn Hiperface and EnDat 2.1/2.2 interfaces, allowing the controller to work with common motor feedback systems used on this platform. The unit supports both infeeding and regenerative operation on the DC bus, so returned braking energy can be fed back into the shared system.
