The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-B-ET-EC-EM-L4-NN-FW drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. It combines a power section and a control section to operate servo and induction motors in automated assembly lines, packaging equipment, and material-handling stations. This arrangement lets the controller convert incoming motion commands into regulated motor output while coordinating current, speed, and position control in one unit. It is suited for compact and modular machine layouts where drive functions are grouped within the IndraDrive platform.
Its communication layer is based on the MultiEthernet interface, so one drive platform can operate on EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, or EtherCAT networks. The power stage accepts a three-phase supply of 3 x AC 200 to 500 V with a tolerance of ±10%. During acceleration, the drive can source up to 18 A of peak current, which supports short periods of higher motor demand. The enclosure protection is IP20, so the unit must be installed inside a suitable cabinet. For closed-loop positioning, the control section supports an IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 encoder input, and an internal blower moves air through the heatsink to manage operating temperature.
The controller belongs to the HCS01 line and is equipped with a BASIC control section in design version 1, which suits single-axis applications that do not require expanded PLC functions inside the drive. It focuses on drive operation and networked motion tasks rather than standalone machine control. The DC bus connection uses an Infeeding / Feeded topology, so the unit can exchange energy with a common bus during regenerative braking and during periods of higher demand. A secondary feedback port provides encoder emulation, allowing downstream devices or external interface cards to receive incremental signals without an additional sensor. Functional safety is handled through STO and SBC channels, which remove torque or command the motor brake when required.
