Product Description:
The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-03-A-ET-EC-EC-L4-NN-FW drive controller is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. It performs closed-loop speed and torque control, manages fieldbus communication, and activates integrated safety functions for servo and induction motors used in packaging lines, handling robots, and machining centers. Acting as the electrical link between a plant PLC and the motor windings, the unit combines power conversion, feedback processing, and protective logic in one rail-mounted module. This layout allows one axis module to handle both motor control and communication tasks without requiring separate external hardware for each function.
The controller accepts a three-phase input of 3 x AC 200...500 V ±10%, giving it compatibility with common factory mains. Its internal bus can deliver a peak phase current of 18 A, which supports rapid acceleration on mid-frame servo axes and short-term dynamic demand during motion changes. Heat from the IGBTs is expelled by internal air cooling, so no external ducting is needed. Real-time communication is provided through a Multi-Ethernet port that can be switched in software to several industrial Ethernet protocols. The enclosure has an IP20 rating, which keeps live parts finger-safe but requires installation inside a control cabinet.
For position feedback, the drive offers encoder connections for IndraDyn Hiperface and EnDat 2.1/2.2, allowing redundant or multi-loop operation when an application needs both motor and external feedback signals. Integrated functional safety is realized by STO (Safe Torque Off) and SBC (Safe Brake Control), enabling torque removal or brake actuation without external relays. The DC link supports infeeding and fed operation, so regenerated energy can be shared with other axes on the common HCS01 DC bus. This arrangement helps distribute returned energy across connected axes instead of isolating it at one drive.
