Product Description:
The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-02-E-S3-EC-NN-L3-NN-FW drive controller is produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat and belongs to the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. The unit resides in the drive section of a multi-axis automation cabinet and converts incoming AC supply into a regulated output for synchronous and asynchronous motors. By integrating command, power, and safety functions in one housing, it provides closed-loop speed and torque control for packaging lines, material-handling systems, and general machinery.
It accepts a three-phase supply of 3 x AC 110…230 V ±10%, allowing direct connection to low-voltage plant mains without an isolation transformer. During acceleration or load spikes, the power stage can deliver a peak phase current of 18 A, which supports compatible motor frame sizes. Communication with the motion controller is handled through SERCOS III, enabling deterministic cyclic data exchange over Ethernet. The housing carries an IP20 rating, so it must be mounted inside a protected cabinet. Thermal energy is removed by an internal air cooling path that uses an integrated blower to move air across the heat sink, keeping semiconductor temperatures within operating limits during continuous duty.
The control section is the ECONOMY variant with design version 1, and it supports position feedback through the combined IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1 / 2.2 encoder port for single-cable motor connections. For machinery that must comply with functional safety standards, the drive incorporates STO. This safety channel removes motor torque instantly when activated and simplifies the protective circuit layout. An infeeding and fed power supply arrangement allows surplus energy from braking axes to be shared along the DC bus, reducing heat and utility demand during cyclic motion sequences.
