Product Description:
The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-02-E-S3-EC-EP-NN-NN-FW is a drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. It forms the power stage between the mains supply and servo or induction motors, executing motion commands from higher-level PLCs while processing motor feedback for closed-loop control. This arrangement allows the drive to regulate speed and torque with stable response during starts, stops, and load changes. The unit is intended for compact machinery and retrofit applications where precise motion is required but cabinet space and available power are limited.
This controller links to the machine PLC over SERCOS III, a deterministic Ethernet fieldbus for motion commands, status exchange, and synchronized control. It accepts a 3 x AC 110–230 V ±10% supply, so it can connect directly to common low-voltage industrial mains. The power stage can deliver up to 18 A peak to the motor for short acceleration bursts, which helps the axis respond during rapid speed changes. Heat is removed by internal air cooling with an integrated blower, and the housing is rated IP20, which provides finger-safe protection while requiring installation inside a control cabinet.
The control section is classified as ECONOMY, which provides standard positioning functions for general motion tasks. A front-panel socket accepts motors that use IndraDyn Hiperface or EnDat 2.1/2.2 encoder feedback, supporting high-resolution position control and accurate motor commutation. Within the HCS01 line, the unit supports infeeding and fed operation, so it draws energy from the mains and can return regenerated braking energy to the DC bus during deceleration. The hardware is design version 1, and the unit does not include a dedicated safety interface, so any safe torque off function must be handled by external circuitry.
