The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-02-B-ET-EC-EM-NN-NN-FW belongs to the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. As an HCS01 line drive controller, it converts supply power and processes encoder data so connected servo or induction motors can follow motion commands from the plant PLC. Installed in a switchgear cabinet, the unit coordinates acceleration, deceleration, and positioning sequences in multi-axis industrial automation. It supports coordinated motion where several cabinet-mounted axes must respond through the same control architecture.
The controller links to supervisory networks through MultiEthernet, allowing selection of PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, or EtherCAT without hardware changes. It accepts a supply of 3 x AC 110…230 V ±10%, making it suitable for a wide range of low-voltage mains systems. During dynamic events, the power stage can source up to 18 A of peak current to the motor. Heat is removed by internal air cooling that uses an integrated blower, so no external ducting is required. The housing has an IP20 rating, and precise position data enter through the first feedback port that supports Encoder IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 for high-resolution synchronous operation. This network flexibility allows the same hardware platform to fit different plant communication standards.
The second feedback socket can output encoder emulation signals for legacy motion controllers that expect incremental channels. This allows older control systems to receive position signals from the drive without changing the basic feedback concept. Power exchange with the DC bus is handled through infeeding and fed operation, which allows energy sharing among multiple axes. The control section is BASIC, and the unit is design version 1. No integrated safety interface is included, so external safety components must be provided where needed.
