Product Description:
The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-02-B-ET-EC-EC-L3-NN-FW drive controller is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat for the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. As a compact unit intended for cabinet installation, it handles power conversion and closed-loop regulation for synchronous and induction motors used in packaging lines, handling systems, and general motion platforms. By combining the power stage, control electronics, and fieldbus connectivity in one enclosure, the device simplifies axis integration and manages speed, torque, and position commands from higher-level automation equipment.
Networking is handled through the MultiEthernet port, allowing the unit to communicate by PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, or EtherCAT without hardware changes. The control section is the BASIC grade, so standard parameterization and diagnostic functions are available for routine drive operation. Thermal management relies on internal air cooling driven by an integrated blower, so no external ducts are required. During dynamic braking or acceleration, the power stage tolerates up to 18 A of device peak current, and it operates from a three-phase supply rated at 3 × AC 110…230 V with a ±10% tolerance. Dual encoder inputs compatible with IndraDyn Hiperface and EnDat 2.1/2.2 support feedback from motor-mounted sensors for precise vector control.
This unit is design version 1, which keeps connector placement and diagnostic LED layout consistent within the HCS01 line. An IP20 enclosure helps protect against accidental finger contact with live parts, but the cabinet must still provide protection against dust and moisture. Safety is addressed through the integrated STO circuit, which removes torque-producing energy when a certified logic signal is opened. The power section supports infeeding and fed operation, so it can return regenerative energy to adjacent drives or accept power from a common DC bus during shared-axis operation.
