Product Description:
The HCS01.1E-W0018-A-02-A-CC-EC-EM-L3-NN-FW is a compact drive controller produced by Bosch Rexroth Indramat within the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. It converts higher-level motion commands into precisely metered motor power, providing closed-loop speed and torque regulation for small to mid-range axes in packaging stations, handling robots, and light machining centers. The controller is well suited for compact machine layouts where stable acceleration, controlled speed holding, and repeatable torque response are required. By integrating power electronics, encoder processing, and safety circuitry, the unit reduces panel space and wiring while providing deterministic control for synchronous or induction motors used in industrial automation.
The controller operates from a mains supply of 3 x AC 110...230 V ±10% and can deliver up to 18 A of peak output current to the connected motor windings. Real-time coordination with neighboring axes is handled through the SERCOS III master interface, which supports cross communication on a fiber or copper ring. This communication path helps the axis exchange timing data with the rest of the system and maintain synchronized motion. For position feedback, Interface 1 accepts IndraDyn Hiperface and EnDat 2.1/2.2 encoder signals, while Interface 2 provides encoder emulation so legacy drives can read incremental channels without additional hardware. That arrangement supports newer servo motors while also simplifying connection to equipment that still uses incremental feedback channels. Functional safety is provided through STO (Safe Torque Off), allowing the drive to remove power from the motor without mechanical contactors when a stop signal is issued.
The control section supplied with this base unit is classified as ADVANCED, giving it expanded diagnostic functions and parameter memory compared with basic variants. An IP20 housing means the controller is intended for installation inside a protected electrical cabinet, and an internal blower moves air across the heat sink to maintain thermal limits without external ducts. DC-bus energy handling supports infeeding and feeding, enabling one module to supply regenerated power while another draws it. This arrangement supports shared energy flow between axes during acceleration and deceleration, which is useful in multi-axis systems with changing load conditions.
