Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the HCS01.1E-W0013-A-02-E-S3-EC-NN-L4-NN-FW drive controller, a member of the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. In industrial automation, it supplies controlled three-phase power to servo and spindle motors, translating motion commands arriving over a fieldbus into precise current and voltage profiles. By combining a compact power section with a detachable control section, the device supports closed-loop axis control, diagnostic reporting, and functional safety in conveyors, packaging lines, and metal-cutting equipment without requiring a separate amplifier chassis.
The power stage is rated for a peak output of 13 A, allowing short bursts of acceleration before the operating current returns to the continuous level permitted by the connected motor. Input power is taken from three-phase mains in the 3 × AC 110–230 V ±10 % range, and the integrated power supply can operate in either infeeding or fed-back mode to return braking energy to the DC link. Heat is removed by internal air cooling with a built-in blower, so no external ductwork is required. Electrical protection follows the IP20 classification, which provides finger-safe terminals when the unit is installed inside a control cabinet. Command and feedback data travel over SERCOS III, giving real-time communication suitable for high-precision multi-axis motion.
The detachable control board fitted to this unit is the ECONOMY variant and uses design version 1 with the L4 pairing code for this power stage. Position feedback from motors is accepted through the multifunction Encoder IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 interface, while the second encoder channel is not installed. Integrated functional safety is provided by STO (Safe Torque Off) and SBC (Safe Brake Control), allowing the machine to disable torque and control a holding brake without full power removal.
