The HCS01.1E-W0013-A-02-B-ET-EC-NN-S5-NN-FW drive controller is built by Bosch Rexroth Indramat as part of the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. It regulates the power flow between the mains supply and synchronous or asynchronous motors, coordinating torque, speed, and position loops within automated machinery. By combining power electronics and motion control in one enclosure, the unit streamlines cabinet layout for packaging lines, material handling stations, and general-purpose assembly equipment. This arrangement supports controlled motor response during starting, running, stopping, and positioning tasks where panel space is limited.
This controller connects to higher-level PLCs through the MultiEthernet platform, so a single hardware port can switch between EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, and EtherCAT without additional option cards. That flexibility allows the same unit to fit different industrial network environments without extra communication hardware. It accepts a supply of 3 x AC 110...230 V ±10% and tolerates mains swings within that band to maintain stable DC-bus energy. Internally, it uses internal air cooling through an integrated blower, which moves heat away from the IGBTs while keeping the overall protection at IP20. The power section can deliver up to 13 A of peak current, permitting brief overloads during motor acceleration or short demand spikes.
The control section on this drive is the BASIC variant for the HCS01 line. Motor position feedback enters through the Encoder IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 interface, supporting single-turn or multi-turn feedback devices for closed-loop operation. The secondary feedback port is not equipped, which reduces unused connector openings on the unit. The integrated DC link can operate in infeed or feed mode, allowing the drive to act either as an energy source or as a consumer within a multi-axis system.
