Drive converters like those in the HCS series by Bosch Rexroth are state-of-the-art components in the IndraDrive system. They are designed to control electric motors and monitor their operation. Their compact build makes them suitable for several applications.
The HCS01.1E-W0013-A-02-A-ET-EC-EC-L3-NN-FW is a drive converter in the HCS series with a standard control panel. Its operating states, command and error diagnoses, and pending warnings can be viewed on this user panel with a single-line display and four operating keys. It has two multi-encoder interfaces for standard encoders such as the MS2M motor encoder, the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with reference track, the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with EnDat 2.1, and the sin-cos encoder (1 Vpp) with EnDat 2.1. The supply voltage ratings of the encoders are 5V and 12V. While the mains connecting voltage for this HCS model is a three-phase AC voltage between 110V and 230V, it accommodates a maximum current of 13A.
Safe Torque Off (STO) is the safety technology option in the HCS01.1E-W0013-A-02-A-ET-EC-EC-L3-NN-FW. It is the most cost-effective solution for preventing drives from restarting unintentionally. The drive converter also has an Ingress Protection rating of IP 20 according to EN 60529, meaning it does not permit the entry of solid external materials over 12mm. Its compact size allows its installation within control cabinets, while its cooling mechanism is forced air cooling. Natural convection supports the cooling air currents and prevents heat pockets from forming. The drive converter’s communication module is Multi-Ethernet, allowing its integration in different Ethernet field bus systems, including sercos III, EtherCAT, EtherNet/IP, or PROFINET IO. It also supports the use of firmware, which is ordered separately.
