This unit communicates with higher-level control systems over SERCOS III, allowing deterministic real-time cyclic data exchange between the controller and the drive. The integrated power supply can operate in both motoring and regenerative modes, allowing energy exchange on a shared DC bus in multi-axis systems. During deceleration, returned energy can flow back into the DC bus rather than being handled only at the individual axis level.
