It serves as the central power and logic module in modular motion systems by receiving three-phase line power, conditioning it, and feeding it to connected axes while exchanging diagnostic and command data with the machine PLC. In automated assembly cells, packaging equipment, and material-handling stations, the unit provides precise current and voltage modulation so that servomotors follow commanded torque and velocity profiles without overshoot or drift. This arrangement lets one controller coordinate drive functions and motion response within a compact cabinet-based axis system.
Communication with higher-level controllers uses the MultiEthernet platform, so one port supports EtherNet/IP, PROFINET, EtherCAT, and SERCOS III. The power stage accepts 3 x AC 200–500 V ±10% and can supply a peak of 8 A to the motor phases during acceleration.
