This unit serves as the power and control module between the mains supply and a motor, closing the velocity loop and issuing torque commands for positioning, conveying, or process-drive duties in automated lines. Its compact architecture suits decentralized cabinet layouts where short wiring runs and efficient use of panel space are important. That arrangement allows the controller to respond quickly to command changes while keeping motor power and control functions in a single module.

On the power side, the device connects to a three-phase mains supply of 3 x AC 200…500 V ±10%, allowing one model to operate across a broad plant voltage range without tap changes. During rapid load surges, the inverter can deliver a peak phase current of 8 A, which supports short acceleration bursts before current limiting intervenes. Heat from switching losses is removed by internal air cooling that uses an integrated blower, so no external ducting is required inside the cabinet. The housing has an IP20 rating, which provides finger-safe protection and requires installation in a closed electrical enclosure. Because the unit is intended for cabinet mounting, surrounding panel ventilation must still support heat removal. For networked automation, the controller includes a MultiEthernet port for communication with higher-level industrial control systems.

Its control section is the BASIC variant, which includes the motion kernel, parameter memory, and local I/O needed for single-axis operation. Motor feedback enters through the first interface, which supports Encoder IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2, while the second feedback port is left empty when dual-encoder capability is not required. DC-link energy can be exchanged over a common bus, allowing the drive to operate in infeeding or fed operation depending on system topology and regenerative power flow.
