Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the HCS01.1E-W0008-A-03-B-ET-EC-EP-DA-NN-FW drive controller for the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. It combines a power section with a pluggable control section to regulate motor torque, speed, and position in automated machinery. In a multi-axis installation, the unit sits between the plant’s three-phase line supply and connected IndraDyn servomotors, converting PLC commands into controlled current for coordinated motion. This arrangement allows the controller to serve as both the power interface and the motion-control stage for the connected axis.
Incoming power is accepted from a 3 x AC 200–500 V ±10% supply, allowing operation on both low-voltage and standard factory power systems without an external transformer. The power section can deliver a peak phase current of 8 A, which supports small and medium servo axes during short acceleration demands. Thermal management uses internal air cooling through an integrated blower, which moves cabinet air across the heat sink. Because of this cooling method, the enclosure layout should leave clear airflow space around the drive. The housing has an IP20 rating, so the unit is intended for installation inside a protective cabinet. Command and diagnostic data are exchanged over a Multi-Ethernet interface that supports several real-time Ethernet fieldbus options.
Feedback support includes IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 encoder feedback, allowing the drive to process high-resolution position data directly. Direct encoder compatibility removes the need for external feedback converters and helps keep wiring more compact. The installed control section is the BASIC variant, and this power module is intended to be used only with that matching board. For DC-bus energy exchange, the unit supports infeeding and fed operation, so it can handle power flow in either direction within the drive system. The controller belongs to design Version 1 of this hardware generation.
