Bosch Rexroth Indramat produces the HCS01.1E-W0008-A-03-B-ET-EC-EC-L3-NN-NW, a member of the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. This drive controller is installed between the plant’s PLC and the motor to regulate torque, speed, and position in automated cells. It converts control commands into regulated motor output so connected axes can follow programmed motion profiles with repeatable response. By integrating motion control and safety inside a compact housing, the device coordinates multiple axes used in packaging machines, assembly stations, and material-handling gantries.

The power stage accepts a three-phase supply of 3 x AC 200–500 V ±10%, so it can be connected directly to common factory mains without a step-down transformer. That input range suits production sites that operate on different standard line voltages. During rapid acceleration, it can provide up to 8 A of peak current for short-term overload demand in servo duty. A MultiEthernet port supports PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, and SERCOS over one connector, which reduces network cabling and helps simplify panel wiring. The control section uses the BASIC variant for standard positioning and velocity functions. Thermal energy is removed by internal air cooling through an integrated blower. The IP20 enclosure is intended for protected control cabinets and allows access to the terminals during installation and service.

The unit uses design version 1. Its DC-bus arrangement is an infeeding and fed configuration, so it can draw power from or return regenerated energy to a shared link depending on load direction. This supports applications with frequent acceleration and deceleration cycles where energy exchange on the DC bus is useful. The dedicated safety input provides STO (Safe Torque Off), which removes motor torque when a monitored stop is requested. Two feedback sockets accept IndraDyn, Hiperface, or EnDat 2.1/2.2 encoders for high-resolution position data, allowing the controller to work with several common motor feedback formats.
