The Bosch HCS01.1E-W0008-A-03-A-ET-EC-EC-NN-NN-FW is a modular drive controller. It is part of the HCS series from Bosch’s IndraDrive product line. It is deployed in combination with a compatible Bosch motor. The control section on the controller performs all processing-related functions. Different types of control sections are available. The HCS01.1E-W0008-A-03-A-ET-EC-EC-NN-NN-FW is equipped with an advanced control section. Other controller features include two multi-encoder interface modules and Multi-Ethernet master communication. A slot for a safety module is available on the unit. Operators can use a standard control panel to easily configure and monitor the controller during operation. Standard control panels do not support hot plug, and must be connected to controllers before the latter are switched on. Peak current output of the HCS01.1E-W0008-A-03-A-ET-EC-EC-NN-NN-FW is 8 Amps. The minimum input voltage is 200 Volts AC and the maximum is 500 Volts AC.
Weight of the controller is approximately 1.3 kilograms. Its mechanical dimensions are 215 x 50 x 196 millimeters. Bosch has designed the controller for vertical mounting. Ideally the back side of the controller should be attached to the mounting surface. Resistors installed near the back of the controller get heated up during operation. Therefore operators must protect any devices installed near the unit. If there is insufficient space for back-side mounting, operators can mount the controller with either the left-side or the right-side attached to the mounting surface. The controller relies for forced air cooling. Minimum 56 m3/h air flow is required for proper cooling. In addition, minimum 90 millimeters spacing must be provided on the top and bottom side, and 10 millimeters on the front of the mounted controller. The temperature of ambient air inside the controller should be between 0 and 40 degrees Celsius.
