Bosch Rexroth’s HCS drive converters offer users extensive functionality with their multi-encoder interfaces and other interfaces. They are compact units built for controlling electric motors and monitoring their operation. Like other components of the Rexroth IndraDrive drive system, they are used in machine tools, food packaging and processing machines, general automation, and printing and paper processing machines.
The HCS01.1E-W0005-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-NN-AA-FW is one of the compact converters in the HCS series of the IndraDrive Cs family by Bosch Rexroth. It is designed for G1 mounting within a control cabinet, allowing cooling by natural convection via a forced cooling air current. This prevents potentially harmful pockets of heat from being created in it. The volumetric capacity of this forced cooling is 11.00m3/h. With the drive converter’s multi-encoder interface, standard encoder types are compatible with it. These encoders have supply voltage ratings of 5V and 12V and include the MSK motor encoder, the MS2N motor encoder, and the 1Vpp sin-cos encoder with EnDat 2.1.
Communication between the HCS01.1E-W0005-A-03-E-S3-EC-NN-NN-AA-FW and other system components is achieved via its sercos/EtherCAT communication module. The mains connection voltage for its operation is a three-phase AC voltage between 200V and 500V, while its maximum current is 5A. Only control sections with the ECONOMY design are compatible with the drive converter. It has an IP 20 Ingress Protection rating, indicating that it cannot be penetrated by solid external objects over 12mm. This HCS model supports the use of firmware, but this must be ordered separately. It is equipped with a standard control panel with a single-line display where its operating status, command and error diagnoses, and pending warnings are viewed.
