Bosch Rexroth Indramat manufactures the HCS01.1E-W0005-A-03-B-ET-EC-NN-S5-NN-FW, a member of the HCS IndraDrive Controllers series. This drive controller converts incoming three-phase power into a regulated DC link and modulated output for connected servo or induction motors. Acting as the closed-loop interface between motion commands and machine axes, it performs current, speed, and position regulation while exchanging status data with the plant network for precise, repeatable movement in automated production cells. Its role is to translate supply power and control commands into motor behavior that follows the requested motion profile under changing load conditions.

In operation, the device communicates with higher-level PLCs through the MultiEthernet port, so one hardware platform can be integrated with PROFINET, EtherNet/IP, or SERCOS networks without option cards. Protection is limited to IP20, which means the electronics should be installed inside a cabinet away from dust and dripping fluids. Thermal management relies on internal air cooling from an integrated blower, which removes heat without requiring an external heat sink. The power stage accepts 3-phase AC 200–500 V ±10% and can deliver a peak current of 5 A during short acceleration or deceleration events.

The fitted control section is the BASIC variant, which suits standard single-axis tasks and corresponds to design type B. Feedback wiring connects to the Encoder IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 interface, while the second encoder socket is left unpopulated when dual feedback is not needed. DC-link energy is handled by the Infeeding / Feeded power unit, which allows regenerated energy to be shared with adjacent drives. Firmware ordered separately is required, so the software can be selected for the intended application.
