It converts incoming three-phase mains into regulated motor power while executing motion commands received from higher-level automation systems. By combining control electronics, power conversion, and diagnostic circuitry in one unit, it supports precise speed and torque regulation for light-duty servo axes in machine tool, packaging, or material-handling cells. This layout allows the controller to manage local drive functions while the automation system coordinates the larger machine process. It is intended for cabinet-mounted installations where compact power density and integrated communications are important.
The unit relies on internal air cooling provided by an integrated blower, so no external ducting is required. Its enclosure carries an IP20 rating that allows finger protection but requires installation inside a closed control panel. The power stage accepts 3 × AC 200–500 V ±10% and can deliver up to 5 A of peak current, which suits small IndraDyn motors and other light servo loads. The control section is the ADVANCED variant in design version 1 and includes Safe Torque Off circuitry for functional safety. Energy exchange with neighboring axes is possible through the DC link, which supports multi-axis arrangements that share bus energy during changing motion states.
Real-time network traffic is managed through a SERCOS III master (cross communication) port that synchronizes drives within one control cycle. Feedback devices connect to the dedicated Encoder IndraDyn Hiperface/EnDat 2.1/2.2 interface, while supervisory commands can arrive over onboard PROFIBUS. Within the product hierarchy the controller carries the HCS01 line code, and its power module pairs with the matching A control section.
